Happy New Year!

Tonight, I taught Joshua how to count down from 10, and then say "Happy New Year!". He's got 1 to 10 down pat, but he's not really getting the 10 to 1. No matter, he loves shouting "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" even though he has absolutely no idea what it means. He loves running to me after I shout happy new year, and then giving me a "big hug".

Tonight, before bed, he was reading his magazines and he saw a gold fish in the magazine. He said "Hi Goldfish! Happy New Year!".

So on behalf of Joshua, Tim, myself and Baby J v.2.0, "Happy New Year!" and all the best in 2009.

Christmas Fun with Joshua

We installed a light switch under the Christmas tree to turn on the lights.

J: *crawls under the tree to turn on the switch*
J: Turn on.
*lights go on*
J: Pretty! Pretty!

Fun with Joshua

As some of you know, Joshua took a liking to Motrin (infant ibuprofen) a few weeks ago when he was sick. Since then, I've stashed the bottle, but he managed to locate it tonight while playing with "Gamma". He held the bottle and brought it to me.

J: Motrin, eat.
Me: No, you only have Motrin when you're sick. Are you sick?
J: *fake coughing*

-------------

Joshua's newest favourite game is Hide and Seek. He loves being the Seeker, but have no patience for hiding. He likes to request a game of "hide seek" whenever we are home. Because of all the games, he got very good at counting from one to ten, all by himself!! He'll usually count to five or six by himself, then we'll prompt him for "seben, eight, nine" and then he'll yell "TEN, GO!" and then gleefully run around the house looking for us. It makes for good exercise. :)

Overheard, Part 2

For the past few days, Josh has been sick. I've been dutifully giving him Motrin to reduce his fever.

Me: It's Motrin time!
J: Motrin!
J (while he's sucking it up from the syringe): Good!*
Me: All done now.
J: More! More!
Me: No more for now, maybe later if you still have a fever.
J: Please**?

Tonight, he fell asleep clutching the Motrin bottle.

---------

Me: Josh, where is Grandma and Grandpa?
J: Hong Kong.

---------

On a different note, it looks like Joshua is going to have a little brother.
We had a girls name picked out, but not a boys one, so we have been throwing around a few names to test them out.

Me: What's the baby's name?
J: Josh.

There you have it. Josh, and Josh 2.

Overheard

Overheard this morning.

J sneezes.
J: Bless you! Bless you!

Before he went out this afternoon.

J: Forgot.
Me: What did you forget, baby?
J: Money.
