Crib and Dresser

We bought the crib and dresser set today from the factory outlet of Mother Hubbard's Cupboard. We are very happy with it, and hopefully, Josh will be too. :) The one we got is similar to the "Night Night" but without the bead board.

25 Weeks Glimpse at Josh

At my first appointment at MSH, I signed up for the Fetal Heart Monitor Study, as part of the control group. This study monitors the heart of the mother, and the cardiac development of the fetus and infant to detect abnormalities between mothers with heart disease, and those that don't. The study involves an initial echocardiogram (to ensure that my heart is normal and that I do indeed belong in the control group), the 19/20 week anatomy and placenta scan, and then follow up after the baby is born. When I went in for my anatomy scan, they forgot to do the placenta scan, so I went in again today to have it done.

My placenta is measuring normally, and so is the blood flow in and out. Amniotic fluid levels are normal, and Josh is measuring at the 75th percentile currently. He is currently in the breech position, with his head towards my right side (which is what I thought since I can only feel kicks down, up, and on the left side). The amazing part though, is that today, for the first time, I got a full view of his face. At our previous two ultrasounds, he was always in profile. But today, I saw all his little features!!! I saw the shape of his eyes, his nose, and his little lips. It was almost as clear as a 3D ultrasound! He looks like his Daddy, so hopefully, he'll be a cute little chubby baby. :)

Hello World!

Hello World! This is Josh, and I'm channelling my thoughts from the womb to my Mom, who's a really good (and fast) typist. She told me it's high time she stopped doing everything for me, and I've got to start writing in my own blog.

Mommy is now 25 weeks pregnant and in 15 more weeks, I can finally see the light of day (or twinkling stars) and take my first breath of sterilized hospital air. Today, Mommy and Daddy finally figured out what part of my Chinese name will be, thanks to Great Uncle Michael. Mommy is relieved she understands what it means, cuz her Chinese sucks. Grandma Wong thinks it's a really good word. She's got this book with other words to go with it that Mommy and Daddy (mostly Daddy) can look at.

Anyway, Mommy says it's lunch time now. I get leftovers. Yay me!

Chinese Names

After an exhaustive search, we were finally able to track down our family's naming convention. It seems that Josh's name will contain the character 承 as part of it.
